NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A 17-year-boy has become the first suspect arrested for second-degree murder in connection with last month’s shooting death of a Sophie B. Wright High School graduate, Orleans Parish court records revealed.
William West Jr., 17, made his first appearance Tuesday (June 9) in Orleans Parish Magistrate Court on the murder count, where his bond was set at $1 million.
Should West make bond, Magistrate Commissioner Joyce Sallah ordered the suspect to 24-hour home confinement wearing an electronic ankle monitor, allowing travel only to school, court proceedings or medical appointments…
