Newport News unveils new botanical garden in Huntington Park

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A new botanical garden is set to open in Newport News.

Huntington Park is planning the ribbon cutting of its new Huntington Botanical Garden for June 15 from 5-7 p.m.

The city’s parks and recreation department credits about 50 volunteers for planting more than 1,200 plants earlier this spring, thus turning a blighted rose garden into a lush, welcoming destination for residents and visitors, according to Gabrielle Torres Wolfe, spokesperson for the City of Newport News
