Isle of Wight crews respond to sunken vessel

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) – Fire and EMS services in Isle of Wight and Carrollton responded June 5 to retrieve a boat that had sunk while docked.

It happened June 5 at 4:23 p.m. Isle of Wight County Fire Rescue and Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to help the U.S. Coast Guard and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management for a boat that sunk while docked in the 21080 block of Marina Rd. in the Rescue community of the county.

IOWFR and CVFD assisted by placing an absorbent boom around the sunken vessel.
