Two arrested for setting off fireworks on Tybee Island

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) — Illegal firework activity in a motel parking lot, which caused a trash can to catch fire, resulted in the arrest of two individuals on Friday, June 5.

One of the suspects was charged with prohibited fireworks activity and obstruction. The other was charged with prohibited fireworks activity and giving a false name/date of birth.

Tybee Island Police Department (TIPD) officers responded to the motel and located the first suspect hiding in a bush. The suspect attempted to flee and was subsequently tased and placed under arrest, a spokesperson for TIPD said…
