Man facing multiple charges in deadly shooting on Beechwood Drive

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An arrest was made in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in Baton Rouge on March 29, 2026.

Edward Whitten, 32, was charged with second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence battery, and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies.
