Man charged with OWI again after BAC comes back at over three times the legal limit

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man was arrested for his third alleged operating while intoxicated offense after admitting to drinking Fireball to deputies.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Tiger Bend Road around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 9.

The investigation led to James Fairchild, 37, of St. George, being charged with operating while impaired; third offense, and operating a vehicle while under suspension for certain prior offenses.

The deputy approached Fairchild, who had slurred speech and a “very strong odor” of alcohol on his breath…
