North Carolina will open the College World Series on Friday against Ole Miss at 7 p.m. Eastern at Charles Schwab Field, beginning what the Tar Heels hope is a long stay in Omaha.
UNC will face the Rebels in the second game of the day, following the tournament opener between Troy and No. 16 national seed West Virginia at 2 p.m. Those matchups make up the first two games of this year’s College World Series.
