Federal lawsuit claims Shreveport woman’s 911 call led to wrongful arrest, days in jail

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – A federal lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court accuses the Shreveport Police Department and one of its officers of violating a woman’s civil rights after a 911 call for help ended with her spending days in jail.

Calvinitri White is suing the City of Shreveport, Shreveport Police Officer Aaron J. Brown, and companies tied to Village Square Apartments, according to the lawsuit. White is represented by civil rights attorneys Malik Shabazz and John Burnett.

The lawsuit stems from a July 5, 2025, call to 911 that White says was for a non-violent domestic dispute. White alleges she was arrested for criminal neglect of family after an officer claimed to see a roach infestation…
