(Clive, Iowa) An Atlantic, Iowa woman who won $50,000 said the significance of her prize was lost on one member of the household.
“I kept trying to tell the dog last night she’s going to have some pretty fancy bones, and she just didn’t understand me,” Kelly McDermott said with a laugh on Tuesday as she claimed her prize at the lottery’s main office in Clive.
McDermott won a top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “Bonus Cash Doubler” scratch game. She bought her winning ticket at Casey’s, 1408 E.
