‘This is something that is desperately needed’: Lubbock’s first indoor dog park opens

LUBBOCK, Texas — It’s here! The first indoor dog park in the Hub City, the ‘Zoomie Zone,’ opened on May 20th.

“I was a little nervous at first, but I’m really excited to give this to the community. This is something that is desperately needed for your anxious dogs, your dogs with aggression that still need socialization,” said Bailey Crouch, the owner of K9CareLBK and the Zoomie Zone.

She created the dog park because she believed Lubbock needed a safe, cool and relaxing environment for dogs.

“It’s a pretty open space. We’ve got tons of agility equipment, tons of enrichment activity and all the treats that you can ask for,” Crouch said.

The first outdoor dog park in Lubbock opened in 2018 and Crouch thinks the city does not have enough agility equipment for furry friends.

“Everything’s been pretty awesome. I just like that they’re able to sniff and get a lot of energy out. Mental stimulation and see different, obstacles, toys and all that fun stuff,” said Dr. Sara Raschke, one of the Zoomie Zone’s first customers…
