Former Springfield Police Officer Mark Priebe recounts incident that left him paralyzed 6 years ago

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – It’s been 6 years since Mark Priebe’s life was dramatically changed when he was injured in the line of duty.

“I should have died that day 100%. If you see the video, there are a few other different angles. But yeah, I should not be alive,” he said.

On June 9th, 2020, investigators say then Springfield Police Officer Mark Priebe was confronting Jon Routh when Routh intentionally hit Priebe with his SUV in front of police headquarters. Routh dragged Priebe until he hit a barrier, leaving him paralyzed. Now, 6 years later, Priebe says the incident gave him a second chance…
