This Fast-Growing Chain Is Finally Opening Its First Tennessee Location

Tennessee is finally getting its first Wawa. The fast-growing convenience chain will open in Clarksville on June 18, launching what the company has described as a much larger push into the state.

The opening matters beyond one store. It brings one of the country’s most closely watched regional food-and-gas chains into Tennessee and signals a long-term expansion plan that could reshape the state’s convenience store market.

Clarksville will host Tennessee’s first Wawa

Wawa’s first Tennessee location is scheduled to open Thursday, June 18, at 1290 Parkway Place in Clarksville, near 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Peachers Mill Road, according to company plans cited by NewsBreak and local reports. The store will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, giving the chain a round-the-clock presence in a fast-growing part of Middle Tennessee. Wawa has also planned a “Taste of Wawa” preview event for June 17, one day before the official opening. The company invited Tennesseans to share their Wawa memories for a chance to attend, a sign that it is leaning into its strong fan following as it enters a new market.

The Clarksville location marks Wawa’s expansion into its 14th state. That is a notable milestone for a chain that started in Pennsylvania and built a loyal customer base across the Mid-Atlantic and Florida. Over time, Wawa has become known for more than fuel and snacks, with many customers treating it more like a quick-service food stop. Its menu includes made-to-order hoagies, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, specialty drinks, pizza, burgers, soups, sides, and grab-and-go items…
