Defendants in 2024 beating homicide seek reduced charges

(WJET/WFXP)– The trial for one of four people accused of playing their own role in the beating death of an Erie man on a public street has begun, two of whom are looking to have their homicide charge dropped.

The trial for 39-year-old Jeffery Edmond, who is facing homicide charges for allegedly beating 31-year-old Ledomperignon Eady to death in October 2024 alongside 62-year-old Jack DeFilippo and 43-year-old Devon Barnett, has begun and two of those men are looking to have their homicide charges dropped.

Leah Hardin, 39, is also facing assault charges for her alleged role, with prosecutors having already dropped homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide in March 2025, but still faces aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and other misdemeanor charges…
