Lifelong friend of former Marshall Co. commissioner takes over his seat 5 months after his passing

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala (WHNT)- For five months, the Marshall County Commission’s District 1 seat sat empty.

On Wednesday, it was filled for the first time since Commissioner Ronny Shumate died in December.
