Nearly 300 members of the Sons of the American Revolution Tennessee Valley Chapter can trace their family history back to a patriot of the American Revolution.
At Betts Gray Cemetery in Madison, members are doing more than just preserving a cemetery — they’re uncovering pieces of American history and making sure those stories aren’t forgotten. Their research often feels like detective work as members dig through land deeds, marriage licenses, tax documents and church records to track down long-lost burial sites.
