MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Drivers in the Old Railroad Bed Road area should prepare for upcoming traffic changes as construction work continues on a new roundabout project.
Madison County District 4 Commissioner Phil Vandiver announced that Lockhart Road and Orvil Smith Road will be closed on the west side of Old Railroad Bed Road next week to allow paving and concrete work to continue. During the closure, Lockhart traffic will need to access the area from the north.
Drivers traveling on Orvil Smith Road west of Old Railroad Bed will need to use Smith Vasser Road or Smith Drive as an alternate route. Once paving work is completed, southbound traffic on Old Railroad Bed will be shifted to the west side of the new roundabout.
Drivers are being urged to use caution and follow all posted traffic directions while crews work in the area…
