LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A man charged with carrying a concealed weapon had his case thrown out of the Ingham Circuit Court upon appeal after it was determined that he was illegally stopped by a Lansing Police Department officer while in a vehicle.
In late August, the defendant was a passenger in a vehicle when an officer made a stop after reportedly hearing yelling from inside the vehicle, according to court documents obtained by 6 News.
The defendant then explained to the officer that he had been in an argument with someone over the phone. The officer then told the defendant and the driver that it was “no big deal” and wanted to ensure they were not fighting. The officer asked the two for their driver’s licenses…
