DA warns of ‘next victim’ as convicted rapist, parole violator is released from prison

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — “I, along with other Central New Yorkers, will sadly have to await his next victim.”

Those are the words of Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick after the release of rapist and serial criminal Christopher Block from prison on Thursday.

Block, 68, was convicted of kidnapping and raping two women he was a stranger to in 1984. Block forced them from Garfield’s Restaurant on West Genesee Street in Syracuse at knifepoint on Jan. 13, that year. He was convicted in September 1984. He was 25-years-old at the time…
