BRFD: Man arrested in Baton Rouge vehicle arson investigation

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a vehicle fire that investigators say was intentionally set in late May.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, investigators responded on May 26 to a vehicle fire in the 4700 block of Shelly Street and determined the fire had been intentionally set.

During the investigation, officials said they developed information indicating Lawrenceen Wheeler Jr. was the person who set the fire. Investigators said security camera footage showed a suspect matching Wheeler’s description near the scene around the time of the incident…
