Springfield City Council will decide amendment to allow Springfield dispensaries to keep their drive-thrus open until 1:30 a.m.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Right now, all marijuana dispensaries in the city of Springfield must be closed by 10 p.m. Thursday, Springfield’s Planning and Zoning commission heard a presentation on an amendment that would let dispensaries keep their drive-thrus open until 1:30 a.m.

Ryan DeBoef represents the dispensary sponsoring the amendment. He said at the city’s planning and zoning meeting that the dispensary wants its hours, and all other dispensary drive-thru hours, to line up with the regulations already in place for the city’s liquor stores.

“Because of the volume of sales in their Springfield dispensary and their experience in other dispensaries, they believe that it makes commercial sense for them to be open later,” said DeBoef. “There are more sales of the product, which obviously makes commercial sense, and also makes sense for the city from a sales tax revenue standpoint.”…
