Rollover Crash Closes Highway Near Rathdrum, Driver Airlifted

RATHDRUM, ID – A 26-year-old Hayden man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a rollover crash on State Highway 41 north of Wyoming Avenue near Rathdrum.

According to Idaho State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on June 11. Investigators said the driver of a 2006 Toyota Highlander drifted off the right shoulder of the roadway, overcorrected, and lost control of the vehicle. The SUV crossed the northbound lanes, entered the median, and rolled onto its roof, coming to rest in the southbound lanes of the highway.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and became trapped inside the vehicle. Crews from Kootenai County Fire and Rescue extricated him from the wreckage before he was airlifted to Kootenai Health for treatment…
