Anchorage brightens up with summer flower displays across the city

Seasonal color is returning to Anchorage as city crews install thousands of flowers across parks, streets, and public spaces.

Workers have already placed most of the hanging flower baskets and are now focusing on filling flower beds and landscaping areas throughout the city. Officials say roughly 76,000 plants are grown each year to support hundreds of displays, planters, and green spaces.
