POLICE AUDIO CAN BE FOUND AT THE END OF THIS ARTICLE: Law enforcement received a call around 11:30pm on June 8th after reports of a mental health emergency at Terrapin Point on Goat Island inside the Niagara Falls State Park.
Dispatch advised responding officers that a woman reportedly jumped over the fence and was standing on the edge of the Horseshoe Falls. According to the caller, she was hanging over the edge of the falls as if she was going to jump.
Police responded to the scene extremely quickly from inside the state park and were able to prevent what could have been a tragedy. It is unknown if the female was arrested for crossing over the barrier or taken for mental health treatment. No further information is available at this time…
