Pothole prompts lane closures on US-131 north of Grand Rapids
Work to repair the pothole β technically called a spall because itβs on a bridge deck β on the northbound lanes of the highway over West River Drive in Plainfield Township has been extended through June 23. The right through-lane of northbound US-131 and a section of the ramp lane from I-96 to West River Drive will remain closed until then. All ramps are scheduled to remain open, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
Work was initially scheduled to be completed by June 16.
The northbound bridge deck was already scheduled for replacement next year and the southbound bridge deck in 2028.
Drivers will still be able to travel along US-131 northbound in a single lane of traffic. The West River Drive exit will remain open…
