With a suggested move to tiered usage rates, Broomfield businesses could see a change to their water bills.
In a report to the Broomfield City Council in its Tuesday night meeting, city staff proposed moving to a tiered rate structure for commercial water usage, meaning the rate for water would increase the more water is used each month. Broomfield’s current commercial water usage rate is a flat $3.70 per 1,000 gallons, according to a presentation in the meeting from Ken Rutt, the city’s director of water utilities.
