A popular Fayetteville food truck hub is expanding to a second location

A treasured foodie haven and community space in Fayetteville is expanding to Hoke County next year.

The owner of Haymount Truck Stop, Jordan Sherrod, said June 8 that he plans to open a second food truck court just outside Raeford near the border of Hoke and Cumberland counties. Plans call for the new venue to feature an indoor bar, outside seating, spaces for food trucks and green space.

Haymount Truck Stop, the city’s first food truck court, opened in fall 2023 in Fayetteville’s historic Haymount neighborhood. Sherrod said the community’s positive reception inspired plans to open a second venue.

“As soon as we started seeing that we hit on a need, want, and desire for the community, there was the intention to expand … What I wanted to do (originally) was just add a little bit more of a community space to the area” Sherrod said. “I think we just hit on something that the people here really want.”…
