WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — South Florida will see another active afternoon as scattered thunderstorms develop across the region, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding.
A very moist atmosphere remains in place this weekend, providing plenty of fuel for showers and thunderstorms. Storms are expected to form along sea breeze boundaries during the afternoon and early evening, with the highest coverage focused inland. However, weaker winds will allow storms to spread farther toward the east coast metro than on many recent days.
Heavy rain will be the primary concern. Some storms could produce intense downpours in a short period of time, leading to localized flooding in urban areas and locations with poor drainage. A few storms may also become briefly strong, with gusty winds as the main hazard…
