It’s an 83-acre campus in Newtown Square that’s steeped in history.
The wooded property along West Chester Pike still contains the Hood Octagonal Schoolhouse, a rare eight-sided one-room schoolhouse built in 1842. Today, it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The schoolhouse remains active today, hosting annual open houses with volunteers in period attire reenacting 19th-century classroom lessons, along with educational tours for local school groups…
