BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Cereal City held one of its most beloved traditions Saturday morning.
Battle Creek residents gathered on McCamly Street for the National Cereal Fest to celebrate the city’s heritage as the birthplace of the cereal industry.

“We need events like these because it brings everybody together. It’s a good celebration point. I mean, we’re the cereal capital of the world and we just like to emphasize that and show all of our support,” said Darla Barnett, a member of the BCTGM Local 3G union and worker at Kellogg’s.
The festival has been held for over 50 years, organizers said.
