Rutherford County Schools teachers No. 1 concern? Student behavior amid surge of DCS students

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WSMV) – One of the biggest concerns Rutherford County Schools teachers said they had across the district was student behavior.

The concern was revealed during a Board of Education Work Session meeting on Thursday, June 11.

According to Dr. James Sullivan, the Rutherford County Director of Schools, the school district has received many students in the past year that are part of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. Dr. Sullivan said dozens of those students have “very high needs.”…
