West Palm Walmart Gets A Twist As Wetzel’s Pretzels Moves In

Wetzel’s Pretzels has quietly slipped into the Walmart Supercenter on Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach, giving shoppers one more reason to linger near the front of the store. The compact bakery counter brings the chain’s grab-and-go pretzels to a busy suburban hub, slotting into a small space instead of a full storefront and joining the Supercenter’s existing food options.

According to QSR Web, the new setup sits at 9990 Belvedere Road and is run by multi-unit franchisee Sid Kapur, who joined Wetzel’s in 2020 and now oversees 14 locations. A company press release cited by QSR Web notes that Kapur was attracted to the brand for its ability to fit into different kinds of retail spaces, from small counters like this one to larger footprints.

Store-within-store push

Wetzel’s has been leaning hard into a store-within-store strategy, tucking compact bakeries into high-traffic retailers instead of rolling out only traditional shops. As Restaurant Dive reports, the chain has been testing co-branded and other nontraditional placements, from department stores to convenience-focused spots, as a way to speed up growth without the higher costs of standalone builds.
