Mass. awards $17.9M grants for worker training, business boost

BOSTON (WWLP) – The Healey-Driscoll administration announced $17.9 million in grants for 1,255 Massachusetts businesses, intending to train, upskill, and retain more than 15,900 workers across the state.

These grants are part of the Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP), a key initiative of the Healey-Driscoll administration’s strategic investment to retain and upskill talent for Massachusetts’ workforce.

Since Governor Healey took office in January 2023, the program has awarded $100 million, training more than 82,700 workers for approximately 3,850 Massachusetts employers. The WTFP is funded by employers through the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund, providing a tool to maintain a productive, skilled workforce and upskill new hires, including unemployed jobseekers…
