Children had the chance to climb aboard fire engines, sit behind the wheel of construction equipment and explore a variety of larger-than-life vehicles during the Worth Park District’s annual Touch-a-Truck event on June 13 at Altman Park.
The popular summer event drew families from throughout the area for a morning of hands-on fun, giving youngsters an up-close look at more than 10 trucks and specialty vehicles while learning about the people who operate them.
Rows of vehicles lined the park as children eagerly hopped from one attraction to the next, exploring fire trucks, police cruisers, construction equipment and other service vehicles. Many took turns sitting in driver seats, sounding horns and asking questions about how the vehicles are used in the community.
