OSNABURG TWP − The township trustees and Elaine Sukosd’s relatives on June 13 marked the opening of the township’s first park – Sukosd Family Park on nearly 51 acres.
The nearly 15-minute ceremony at the Broadway Avenue NE park took place on a sunny morning six days after what would have been Sukosd’s 81st birthday. She died in 2020, with instructions that the site be used by the public as a park.
“It’s a pretty exciting opportunity for our township,” said Trustee Randall Pero, who added that 49 acres of the property are yet to be developed. “This will slowly turn into something pretty neat for the community.”…
