South Carolina has its first high school commitment under new head coach Kevin Schnall. Class of 2027 catcher Brogan Witcher (Bakersfield, Calif./Liberty) visited the program on Sunday morning and left as a pledge to the Gamecocks.
Witcher, who recently reclassified from the 2028 class, is ranked as the No. 30 player in the country and the second-best player at his position.
“One of the biggest things that stood out to me was the effort the coaches put into the position that I play,” Witcher told Gamecock247. “I catch and also pitch, but on the catching side, no other school has the type of catching development that Coach Schnall has brought in from Coastal.
