One in custody after suspicious item found at Springfield-Branson National Airport

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Visitors to the Springfield-Branson National Airport were relocated early this morning after law enforcement believed it had found a suspicious item at a terminal.

Ren Lubbering, public information officer for the Springfield-Branson National Airport, says officers were notified of the item near the outbound baggage around 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 14.

Security briefly closed the checkpoint, as a precaution, and moved guests to a designated safe zone for around 15 minutes, Lubbering said…
