BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — The Baltimore Police Department’s Southern District Action Team, charged with helping patrol the district and providing stability to the area following shootings, hasn’t functioned for months.
The team was “temporarily deactivated” in late March, department spokesperson Lindsey Eldridge said in an email Friday. She said the move is because of “staffing and supervisory changes” within the team.
The Southern district stretches from Otterbein and Federal Hill down to Curtis Bay and Hawkins Point. It borders Anne Arundel County and Baltimore County as well as the city’s Southwestern, Central and Southeastern police districts…
