The Florida Department of Transportation will temporarily close State Road 33 at the University Boulevard entrance in Lakeland on June 16 as part of the ongoing interchange improvements and wildlife crossings project.
The closure, which begins at midnight, is intended to accelerate critical construction activities and help advance the project toward full completion ahead of schedule, FDOT said in a news release. The closure is expected to last about 60 days, weather and unforeseen conditions permitting.
