Residents across Baton Rouge and surrounding areas are being urged to prepare for a prolonged period of heavy rainfall as the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch beginning Monday morning and continuing through Wednesday morning.
Meteorologists warn that multiple rounds of rain, combined with deep tropical moisture moving into the Gulf Coast region, could lead to flash flooding, rising water levels in rivers and streams, and dangerous travel conditions over the next several days.
Flood Watch Takes Effect Monday Morning
The National Weather Service (NWS) has placed portions of southeast Louisiana under a Flood Watch from 7:00 a.m. Monday until 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.
