FORT MILL, S.C. (WBTV) – Progress is being made on a long-abandoned tower in York County that could finally be torn down. Heritage Tower in Fort Mill has stood empty and unfinished for decades but that could soon change thanks to pending agreements between its new owners and the county.
The tower is a Fort Mill landmark that’s stood for nearly 40 years. Heritage Tower was once the center of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker’s Christian theme park and is now a reminder of the failed project.
