Uncle Momo to Close, Ending More Than a Decade in Montclair

Uncle Momo, the Montclair restaurant known for its French, Lebanese and Mediterranean flavors, will close its doors at 702 Bloomfield Ave. in Montclair after Father’s Day at the end of the month.

The Bloomfield Avenue spot opened in 2012 under the name Uncle Moustache before later rebranding as Uncle Momo. The space was decorated in an eclectic, cozy, Parisian bistro vibe.

Owner Ali Lyoussi and the team made the announcement in a June 15 Instagram post. He said the closure comes as the lease ends and a rent increase “can’t be justified in today’s challenging economy.”…
