Sanitas Medical Center lays off 211 Florida workers, 10 in Tallahassee

A primary care company with outpatient centers in nine metropolitan areas in the state, including Tallahassee, is laying off more than 200 workers statewide, according to online records.

Sanitas Medical Center filed a WARN notice to the Florida Department of Commerce of the mass layoffs, totaling 211 workers, due to company restructuring and budgetary restrictions.

In the state capital, a total of 10 positions in two locations are being eliminated. They include a Behavioral Health Care Manager, an IT Support Specialist, a Patient Representative Coordinator, a Regional Charge Nurse and a Regional Operations Manager, according to the notice.
