The City of Chickamauga is working to remove storm debris following damaging winds that caused widespread power outages and left numerous downed trees throughout the community over the weekend.
City officials say crews are actively cleaning up areas across Chickamauga, but the amount of debris from the storm is unusually high. Residents are asked to help speed up the process by preparing storm debris for collection.
Residents should cut downed trees into log sections measuring six to eight feet in length so the material can fit safely into city trucks. Debris should be stacked neatly near the roadside in a safe location away from traffic and in an area accessible to city crews…
