Multiple agencies work Interstate-40 semi-truck fire

Multiple agencies responded to a semi-truck fire on Interstate 40 in Dickson County last Wednesday with the truck load consisting of tires.

According to Dickson County Fire & Rescue and Tennessee City Fire Rescue social media posts, the truck was headed eastbound on Interstate 40 when it caught fire near the 163.8 mile marker, just east of the Highway 48 exit. First responding agencies across the area battled the blaze of a semi-tractor trailer and the burning tires,

Dickson County Emergency Management Agency Director Rob Fisher told The Dickson Post the fire was caused by heat from one of the brake axles on the trailer. The driver was able to separate the tractor from the trailer before the trailer and its load of tires became engulfed. Neither the driver nor any of the first responders were injured at the scene, Fisher said…
