Long Beach finally did what the culture has been waiting on. On June 6, Mayor Rex Richardson presented Snoop Dogg with the key to the city of Long Beach, a moment that felt as inevitable as it did long overdue.
The honor came at the end of a night that was already historic on its own terms. Snoop headlined the grand opening of the city’s brand-new F&M Bank Amphitheater, performing for a sold-out crowd of 11,000 people along the waterfront.
