State legislators and community leaders gathered on Friday afternoon, June 12, for a press conference to commemorate a $4 million state grant to construct the Museum of Korean American Heritage in Flushing.
The museum’s construction grew out of years of demand from the Korean-American community, who had long pushed for their heritage to be represented through public advocacy and formal letters of support.
“Our Korean community has long dreamed of a dedicated museum to showcase the unique history, struggles, and great contributions of Koreans who have lived on American soil,” said Assemblymember Ron Kim. “Today represents a truly important milestone for this project.”…
