Mayor Zohran Mamdani was at the Knickerbocker Avenue Puerto Rican Day Parade in Bushwick, Brooklyn on Sunday alongside Queens state Assemblywoman Claire Valdez, his endorsed candidate in New York’s 7th Congressional District.
“We’re here at the Puerto Rican Day Parade, which is really exciting, because we need to be fighting for Puerto Rico — for self-determination, for the resources the island needs, and for the diaspora that calls Bushwick and Williamsburg home,” Valdez said.
