Linn County residents push back against proposed power plant and data centers

LINN CO., Iowa (KCRG) – Residents packed a Linn County Planning and Zoning meeting Monday to oppose the Morgan Valley Gas Power plant and potential data centers they believe will come with the project.

Several data center companies have been approaching residents just outside of Fairfax about future development, and the city of Palo recently put its data center ordinance on pause.

“For god sake, if this monster is approved, me and my family will be living less than a mile from it,” Rob Hursh.
