FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — A family dog is being blamed for accidentally starting a fire Tuesday morning at a home on Fort Wayne’s northwest side.
Firefighters with the Fort Wayne Fire Department were dispatched to the 6200 block of Walnut Valley Drive at 10:42 a.m. and arrived on scene four minutes later. The first engine company found light smoke coming from the eaves of a one-story residence and forced entry into the home to investigate.
As firefighters entered, a dog inside the house escaped through the open door. Crews quickly located a fire in the kitchen and extinguished it before it could spread further throughout the home…
