West Alabama Under Prolonged Wet Pattern with Potential Storm Risks Ahead

West Alabama communities should be mindful of the wet pattern set up for this week.

The Southeast River Forecast Center said that a “wet pattern over the region will bring heavy rainfall to west Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi over the next week.” In addition, there is concern that areas receiving the heaviest rain could see 7 to 10 inches.

Now focusing closer to home in West Alabama, rainfall totals have increased to an expected “4 to 7 inches this week, with localized higher amounts possible,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
